Parking Rules and Regulations

Welcome to your go-to guide for parking at Â鶹ֱ²¥ University! To keep our campus safe, accessible, and running smoothly for everyone, we've put together a few quick guidelines for driving and parking on campus. The great news? Parking at Â鶹ֱ²¥ is completely free, and you don't even need a physical decal anymore! All you need to do is register your vehicle online. Check out the simple rules, registration steps, and helpful tips below to help you navigate campus smoothly.

Citation Appeal

If you have a vehicle on campus, you must register it. Knowing who owns a vehicle helps Safety & Security maintain order and contact you quickly if your car needs to be moved for snow removal (saving you from fines or towing bills).

  • Who needs to register? All students, faculty, and staff.

  • Commuters: If you live in a household where you drive different cars on different days, you can add multiple vehicles to your registration profile.

  • Where to register: . Failing to register your vehicle is a direct violation of campus parking rules.

The FIVE Basic Parking Rules

To keep traffic moving safely and ensure parking is available for everyone, follow these 5 simple rules to avoid getting a ticket:

  1. Permitted Spaces Only: Park only in paved parking spaces. Do not park on lawns, mud, in "No Parking" zones, or on diagonal hash marks.

  2. Speed Limits: Observe the 20 mph speed limit on College Circle and the 15 mph speed limit near the residence halls.

  3. No Overnight Parking: Do not park in lots posted for "NO OVERNIGHT PARKING" between 11:30 PM and 5:00 AM.

  4. Fire Lanes: Absolutely no parking in designated Fire Lanes.

  5. Handicapped & Admissions Spaces: Do not park in Handicapped or Admissions spaces. If you use a handicapped space, you must display a valid state-issued placard or license plate.

Enforcement & Towing Policy

Violations are taken seriously to keep the campus safe and accessible.

⚠️ Towing Warning: Repeat violators (3 or more citations) or unregistered vehicles parked in violation of major rules (like illegally parking in a handicap spot, a fire lane, or on the grass) may be towed off-campus at the owner's expense.

Citation Appeals

If you do happen to get a ticket, you have the right to appeal.

  • Deadline: All appeals must be filed within 15 days of the date the ticket was issued.
